Mel Pisetzner, M.D. DLFAPA
Dr. Pisetzner is a retired psychiatrist who moved to Montgomery County , from Rochester, NY, to be near his family. He received his undergraduate degree at Columbia and medical degree at Stanford.
He was in private practice for more than 40 years and was a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Rochester. There, he taught college and medical students, as well as interns and residents.
He was a member of a Foundation devoted to psychiatric education and lectured internationally.
He was involved in establishing a free psychiatric clinic for the indigent.
Because of his active community involvement and history of teaching, he was named a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association( DLFAPA).
Currently, he is tutoring 5 ESL learners in our program.
Dr. Pisetzner is widowed and has two daughters and five grandchildren.
